Travis has spent the past decade working with and supporting adolescents in crisis. He worked for a number of years as direct care field staff at Trails Carolina, progressing to the level of Master Instructor. He has also worked with adolescents in crisis across multiple settings, including the public school system, community, therapeutic boarding school, and wilderness settings. Travis brings the skills he learned from these different experiences to his position at Trails Carolina. He believes in the importance of learning through experience, building new skills and learning how to apply them in familiar environments, fostering growth in family relationships, and the importance of a strengths-focused approach. His passion is supporting adolescents and their families as they develop the skills to succeed as individuals, as a family, and in their community. In order to achieve these goals, he brings a focus not just on the individual and their areas for development, but also on the family and their community. Travis holds a master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a licensed in clinical social work by the State of North Carolina.
