Shalene grew up in Texas and has lent her experience and expertise over the last fifteen years to starting up multiple wilderness therapeutic programs for struggling youth. Shalene has also worked and trained at a rape crisis center and functioned as a clinical director in wilderness. She believes in the power and opportunity for change that wilderness provides to both the girls in her group and their families. When not working, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family, friends, and dogs—Biscuit and Porter.

This is why I have chosen this life…to help troubled teens–and their families–make lasting changes. Thank you for the interest in Trails Carolina.”
