Nicola earned her undergraduate degree from Lafayette College in Psychology and Women’s and Gender Studies. She continued her education and earned a master’s degree from UNC-Chapel Hill in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. Her thesis work focused on Horticultural therapy to benefit individuals diagnosed with major depressive disorder. This is one of the things that makes her an excellent fit for Trails Carolina.

Prior to joining the Trails Carolina team, Nicola spent time working with young people at WakeMed Children’s Hospital. Her experience providing intake assessments and evidence-based care in a behavioral health setting offers a unique insight into working with this population. Nicola is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of North Carolina. Her passion for holistic and empirically-based therapy helps shape her work with teens and adolescents.

In her free time, Nicola enjoys gardening, painting, yoga, and spending time with her family. She enjoys the outdoors and is excited to match her clinical expertise with the impactful work we do in the wilderness.
