Melissa Turner, LCSW

Family Coach

Melissa received her Masters of Social Work from Florida State University. She has worked with adolescents and their families in a variety of settings, including residential, intensive in-home, and outpatient services.

Melissa finds great appreciation in working with different populations and began her career working with girls rescued from sex trafficking and then teenage boys in the juvenile justice system. She has spent the last five years working in clients’ homes, working closely with entire family systems to address behaviors and internal family system issues. Melissa believes that every family member deserves a chance to be heard and every family deserves a chance to learn to operate as a functional system.

In her personal time, Melissa enjoys playing sports, hiking, paddling, doing art projects, and cooking.  Her favorite place to be during off days is anywhere on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Trails saved my daughter’s life. Amanda is an amazing human and a brilliant therapist. I am so grateful to her, Science Steve, and the other wonderful people who could reach my daughter at a time when I could not.

Great life changing experience for our son. After becoming addicted to gaming during covid he was very depressed. At Trails he experienced the wilderness, Science Steve, learning survival skills and top notch therapy and support etc… I highly recommend! This gave our son and our family a renewed family bond full of love and excitement about his bright future.
