After becoming licensed in 2017, Emily has helped hundreds of families navigate the challenges of pre-teen years and adolescence. Her commitment to strengthening families brought her to Trails Carolina to help serve our parents as a family coach. In this role, Emily can apply her passion for understanding her client’s challenges and partner with her families in finding impactful solutions.
Emily earned her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte and has worked in various settings, including community mental health, group homes, and youth programs. She has gained experience working with trauma, Autism Spectrum, and substance use disorders throughout her professional journey. As a nature lover and a parent, Emily believes that wilderness therapy is an excellent path to help facilitate change and growth by changing the environment and healing the family system. Emily works with children, teens, and their families to help navigate these positive changes, break unhealthy cycles, and guide and coach parents throughout the process at Trails Carolina.
In her spare time, Emily usually spends time with her family tending to the garden, goats, and chickens on their farm.
