Derry was born and raised in Knoxville, TN and spent much of her childhood exploring the southern Appalachian Mountains with her family.  Derry started in wilderness therapy over 10 years ago as a wilderness instructor.  Before earning her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Western Washington University, Derry worked in a wide array of clinical settings including Marsha Linehan’s Behavioral Research and Therapy Clinic where she researched the efficacy of DBT.   Derry gained extensive experience working with a variety of populations and after exploring the Pacific Northwest for many years, she eagerly returned to the southeast to fulfill her dream of becoming a wilderness therapist.  Derry is thrilled to be working with pre-adolescent girls & boys in their courageous pursuit to heal and uncover their vast potential.  In her free time, you can usually find her practicing yoga, hiking, riding her bike and spending quality time with friends and family.
